Kalani Coconut Liqueur
Kalani Coconut

Two favorite Caribbean flavors give this 100% natural liqueur its subtle flavor and exotic sensation. The finest natural coconut extract and essences are blended with pure sugar cane syrup to create an exotic, tropical coconut liqueur. All of the coconuts used in Kalani are grown on the Aristi plantation in the Yucatan. Each coconut is harvested by hand, and processed using a machine designed especially for this purpose. Every bottle is hand-crafted by Mayan artisans. Seashells decorating the bottle are collected from Yucatan beaches, the rope is hand-crafted and knotted; the cap, a presentation remeniscent of ancient Mayan headdresses. This festive vessel is well-suited to this high-quality, crystalline coconut liqueur.

Koltiska KO 90 Liqueur
Koltiska KO 90

In the late 1800’s, the Koltiska family settled in Sheridan, Wyoming. Over 100 years later, you can find the fifth generation there. Through good times and bad, the Koltiska family has been known for two things: a lust for life and a fine liqueur, hand crafted, to be shared with friends and family in the celebration of life. Kolts Fine Spirits invites you to join in the celebration. When you’re looking for a truly fine, smooth, spirit liqueur, one that carries the tradition and strength of the American West, choose Koltiska Original or KO 90. Enjoy it as a shooter (a Cowboy tradition), on the rocks or as a fine mixer. Like the cowboys of the West, it is a perfect blend of strong yet smooth. Robert, Jason, and Justin Koltiska started Kolts Fine Spirits in 2001. Four years later, through devotion, perseverance, and just plain hard work, Koltiska Original Liqueur was launched. In 2006, Kolts Fine Spirits introduced KO 90, a higher proof liqueur and is now distributing our products in seven states. Robert Koltiska, CEO, Jason Koltiska, Head of Distribution and Production, and Justin Koltiska, Head of Marketing, all come together as a family team to make some of the best products on the market. It has been our goal to share our products with the world and will continue working hard to ensure that it will happen.

Sincerely,
Robert, Jason & Justin Koltiska

Kübler Absinthe Liqueur
Kübler Absinthe

Kubler absinthe is legal again. Kubler Absinthe is distilled from neutral grain spirits and herbs. The principal ingredients in Kubler are referred to as the Holy Trinity - Grand Wormwood, Star Anise and Fennel. These herbs provide a balance between bitter and sweet and make up the taste of this compelling spirit. Kubler uses a grain neutral base of Swiss wheat that also includes hyssop, lemon balm, coriander, star anise, fennel, artemisia pontica and mint, based on its original formula. Each of these ingredients is grown locally in the Val-de-Travers. Kubler is 106 proof (53% AB)

Laird's Applejack Liqueur
Laird's Applejack

Crafted by the country's oldest distiller, Laird's Applejack is a venerable American brandy as old as the Republic itself. The company's founder, Robert Laird, fought in the American Revolution under the command of General George Washington. Soldiers of the beleaguered Continental Army were fed and given Applejack while camped near the Laird family's inn in Colt's Neck, New Jersey. Laird's Applejack is made from tree-ripened apples grown in Shenandoah Valley orchards. The apples are naturally fermented in large, 20,000-gallon oak vats.

William Laird, a County Fyfe Scotsman, emigrated from Scotland in 1698 and settled in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Believed to be a distiller by trade, he applied his skills to the most abundant natural resource available in this area of the New World - apples.

Applejack was a well known "cyder spirit" throughout growing America. In the 1820’s, American evangelist John Chapman, better known as "Johnny Appleseed", preached to congregations along the Ohio River Valley, and distributed apple seeds to his followers. He also instructed them in the production of Applejack- hence the continued popularity of Applejack in this region.

Le Tourment Vert Absinthe Liqueur
Le Tourment Vert Absinthe

We've always loved a good cocktail. Just ordering one puts you in a good mood. The endless creativity of mixologists, continually inventing and re-interpreting, means a cocktail never has to be boring. Absinthe has always been about creativity. For generations artists, writers and musicians have sought it out. Its distinctive flavor and color, and its rich history make it an obvious choice to inspire mixologists. So when absinthe returned to America after a hundred-year ban, we had an ambitious idea. We set out to create an authentic absinthe specifically designed for mixology. A genuine alternative to the usual spirits that we hope will inspire a whole new generation of intriguing cocktails.

Linie Akvavit Liqueur
Linie Akvavit

Particular to the Norwegian tradition is the occurrence of Linie akvavits (such as "Løiten Linie" and "Lysholm Linie"). These have been carried in oak casks onboard ships crossing the equator ("Linie") twice before it is sold. While many experts claim that this tradition is little more than a gimmick, some argue that the moving seas and frequent temperature changes cause the spirit to extract more flavour from the casks. Norwegian akvavit distillers Arcus has carried out a scientific test where they tried to emulate the rocking of the casks aboard the "Linie" ships while the casks were subjected to the weather elements as they would aboard the same ship. The finished product was according to Arcus far from the taste that a proper "Linie" akvavit should have, thus the tradition of shipping the akvavit casks past the "Linie" and back continues.

Lucid Absente

Prohibition is finally Over!

Introducing lucid, Absinthe Supérieure. lucid represents a breakthrough product for the U.S. market, as it is the first true, Grande Wormwood-based Absinthe of its type since before prohibition. Unlike imitators in the U.S. and many of the so-called "Absinthe" products that litter the international markets, lucid is crafted directly from select whole herbs, including Grande Wormwood, and never from cheaper assemblages, macerations, extracts or oils.

Luxardo Limoncello Liqueur
Luxardo Limoncello Liqueur

Obtained from the infusion of lemon peels in alcohol, Limoncello is one of the most world-renowned Italian liqueurs. It stems from an ancient tradition which enhances the natural aroma and fresh taste of lemons from southern Italy.

Colour: intensely yellow
Perfume: the pungent fragrance of newly gathered lemons
Taste: well-rounded and harmonious, a pleasant sensation of aromatic freshness on the palate.
Packaging

A round, satin-finish slim bottle, with an image of the fruit screen-printed directly on the bottle.
Serving suggestions

Serve Limoncello Luxardo at room temperature or cold as a "digestivo" drink, or watered down as an aperitif. On the rocks, it is an unbeatable "digestivo". With the addition of tonic water, it is a pleasant thirst-quencher. Excellent with champagne or sparkling wine for preparing long-drinks. Very pleasant on ice-creams, fruit salad or strawberries.
Keep the bottle in the freezer.

Luxardo Maraschino Cherry Liqueur
Luxardo Maraschino Cherry

Description:
Maraschino Luxardo is a classic. The typical straw coated bottle is by now a true icon on the mass consumption scenario. It is one of the very few liqueurs in the world produced by distillation. It is obtained from the marasca, a sour cherry variety exclusively cultivated by Luxardo. The distillate is allowed to mature for two years in Finnish ash vats (this wood does not lend its colour even after many years of maturing), and is then diluted and sugared.

Characteristics:
Colour: clear.
Perfume: typical of marasca distillate, with an excellent intense aroma, fine and well amalgamated, without any aggressive note.
Taste: smooth but sharp, a sweet liqueur unusual for the punch of the distillate, which can be clearly perceived in spite of the moderate alcohol content. A rounded taste and a surprisingly persistent aroma.

Mansinthe Absinthe Liqueur
Mansinthe Absinthe

Feeverte Forum - Donnie Darko - 78/100

COLOR BEFORE WATER 8/10
Clear green with a slight blue-ish tinge. Very similar to Duplais Balance, and I suspect the chlorophyll of the natural herbs used has been enhanced with some sort of additive, as it just doesn’t look quite like the colour of any absinthe I’ve seen that was only coloured with plants.

LOUCHE ACTION 8/10
Not turbulent or concentrated enough, but certainly good, and the swirling oil trails as water is dripped are pretty.

COLOR AFTER WATER 8/10
While it is green, it lacks the yellow tinge that other naturally coloured absinthes have which make the post-louche colour pearlescent and milky.

AROMA 23/30
Not a whole lot there, but there’s not any sharp alcohol heat either. The aroma that is there seems to be Coriander and Wormwood, and the Coriander/Wormwood combo becomes fairly assertive when louched. It’s just shy of being clean, there is a subtle toasty aroma reminiscent of tails that was left behind in my measuring cylinder after the absinthe was poured out of it, but it isn’t enough to translate to the louched aroma.

MOUTH-FEEL 8/10
Not thick and creamy, a little thin, but still relatively smooth, with little alcohol bite. There is a moderate spicy kick from the coriander which keeps it interesting.

TASTE 15/20
This Absinthe is VERY similar to Duplais Balance in just about every respect, except the wormwood is more prominent and the anise is a tad weaker. The coriander and wormwood combine to create an interesting woody/pepper/minty taste. The wormwood used is of good quality, though not of the very distinct Pontarlier Wormwood caliber found in L’Artisinale and the Jades. There’s a little fennel in the aftertaste, though it’s a tad camphorous and not gorgeously rich like the fennel in Jade Edouard and L’Artisinale. The wormwood in the aftertaste carries on for quite some time, and is the strong point of this Absinthe. The weak point is that, with the exception of the Wormwood and Coriander, the other flavours are more suggested than concentrated.

OVERALL IMPRESSION 8/10
This is a good absinthe. The drawbacks are the blue-ish tinged colour which looks slightly artificial, not being 100% clean, and the flavour not being as saturated into the drink as the best absinthes. I’d rank it just slightly above Lucid, as the wormwood is more obvious, though in terms of overall quality they’re fairly similar, with Lucid having the edge in the Fennel and Anise departments. It’s not a top shelf product that a dedicated absinthe drinker would spend a lot of time enjoying, but will likely satisfy most drinkers. Obviously the goofiness of the 66.6% alcohol content and the Manson association have a lot to do with the origins of this absinthe, but thankfully what’s in the bottle has good wormwood and is drinkable.

Mekhong "The Spirit of Thailand" Liqueur
Mekhong - The Spirit of Thailand

Mekhong’s amber and reddish copper colour paves the way to a balanced and smooth flavour of spicy ginger, toffee, citrus and vanilla flavours – all fused together to provide a unique and well balanced drink.

Mekhong can be enjoyed straight, with a mixer, or in cocktails, and of course perfectly complements spicy Thai food.

The spirit’s versatility has led to the creation of its own signature branded cocktail menu that encapsulates the beauty and flavours found in the Kingdom of Thailand itself

MEH-JITO
The combination of sweetness, refreshing citrus and mint makes this the cocktail of choice for summer. It will brighten up your day.

2 shots Mekhong
1 ½ shots fresh squeezed lime juice
3 bar spoons sugar
Finger pinch of fresh mint leaves
3 thumbnail size pieces of fresh ginger root
Club soda

Muddle ginger, mint and sugar in a Collins glass. Add Mekhong and lime juice. Add ice and cover with a shaker tin. Shake briefly and vigorously. Top off with club soda and a dash of Bitters. Serve long with a straw. Based on the Mojito.

Midori Liqueur
Midori

Midori is a melon liqueur, but not just any melon liqueur, it was the first ever to come into this world. It is light and refreshing with a great honeydew melon flavour.

Don't let the word liqueur put you off as it isn't like a traditional after-dinner liqueur. There is much more to Midori than that - it is extremely versatile, and can be found in many fruity cocktails, as well as mixed up simply with another mixer as a long drink.

Navan Liqueur
Navan

When Louis-Alexandre of the House of Grand Marnier created his first luxury liqueur in 1827, orange was widely popular, yet also expensive and difficult to find.

It took years to cultivate the perfect oranges for Grand Marnier®. The same garden which yielded oranges in St Jean Capferrat would also inspire a quest for the perfect vanilla.
Louis-Alexandre cultivated rare species of the vanilla orchid in his exquisite garden. Later his great grand daughter, Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle, current President of Marnier Lapostolle North America and creator of Casa Lapostolle Wines, chose the Natural Vanilla flavor to create Navan®, a new liqueur founded on Grand Marnier®'s success - to uncover a widely popular yet rare, refined flavor, as a tribute to her great grand father.

Navan's singular bottle is a modern reinterpretation of the Grand Marnier bottle shape.

Characterized by its unique textured black band and its sophisticated multifaceted neck., complexity and refinement define Navan at every stage. The clear white glass magnifies the golden color of the product.

Opal Nera Sambuca Liqueur
Opal Nera Sambuca

Why we make it
In the late 80's. Alessandro Francoli decided that traditional sambuca with its harsh, burning aftertaste was no friend of the drinker. So he set about making one which was smoother, tastier, with a lighter flavour and above all, not a throat arsonist.

By looking at the usual recipes and playing with the ingredients a bit, and then adding some significant touches of his own - not least using elderberry skins to give a unique, rich black colour - Opal Nera, the original black sambuca, was born.

How we make it
Opal Nera is a blend of various distilled ingredients which we prepare from scratch, using fresh products (yes, that's right, rather than siphon from huge tanks of various flavourings, we actually take stuff and make distillates from it - innovative isn't it?) So we blend distillates of green anise, star anise, elderflowers, elderberries, coriander and lemon peel (along with a few secret little treats) with neutral alcohol from beet, for a more natural sweetness. And for a final flourish, we infuse the whole thing with elderberry skins to give Opal Nera its distinctive, rich purple-black colour. The result is what we like to call "damn tasty".

Pallini Limoncello Liqueur
Pallini Limoncello Liqueur

The bottle is elegant and I when I occasionally drink this I keep them and refill the bottles for my own batches. The color has a tinge of green but overall it’s a milky white and it’s the only commercial brand I’ve tested that looks milky white straight from the freezer.

The aroma smells like chemicals, sort of like Elmer’s glue. The flavor is decidedly gentle, both compared to other commercial brands and to my own batches. This is no doubt at least partially due to the fact that it’s the weakest of the brands I reviewed at 26% alcohol (52 proof). The lemon flavor is fairly subtle compared to most, the character of the sugar is just as prominent.

Some of the chemicals also make it to the flavor and remind me of a hospital for some reason. I wouldn’t call this great limoncello but it has a much more easily likable flavor than most.
